Recliner Safety & Comfort Guidelines

To ensure everyone can enjoy their recliner safely and comfortably, please follow these important guidelines:

Gradual Movements for Movement Functionality:
When reclining, swivelling, or using the glide features, always move slowly and smoothly. Avoid forceful or abrupt motions. Gradual movements help maintain stability and enhance your overall comfort.

Center Your Weight:
Sit squarely in the middle of the chair for the best support and comfort. Avoid leaning heavily to one side or putting too much weight on the back or armrests.

Footrest Safety:
Never allow anyone to sit or stand on the footrest when it is open, as this could damage the recliner or cause it to tip. Ensure the footrest is closed before standing up or getting out of the recliner.

Child Safety:
Always supervise young children around the recliner. Do not allow them to operate the recliner alone or use it for anything other than sitting. Be aware that when the recliner is in a reclined position with the footrest up, it creates gaps where tiny fingers could get trapped. Always check the area is completely clear before closing the footrest.

Adequate Space for Reclining:
Ensure enough space is behind and in front of the recliner or sofa for the back to recline fully and the footrest to open completely. This prevents damage to the chair and surrounding furniture.

Avoid Tipovers:
To prevent tip-overs, do not throw your weight against the back of the chair or sit on the footrest or armrests. Children should not play on or around the recliner, especially when it is open. While you can cross your legs comfortably, it’s best to avoid sitting in a fully tucked-up, cross-legged position, as it may shift your weight and reduce your stability.

One Person at a Time:
Only one adult should sit in the recliner at a time for safety and stability.

By following these tips, you can maximize comfort while keeping your recliner safe for everyone to enjoy.
