Are the recliners manual, and what does “swivel glider” mean?

They are fully manual, so there is no power cord, outlet or battery to plan around. Each chair has three movements: recline, with a footrest that extends; glide, a gentle front-to-back motion; and a full 360° swivel, so you can turn from the view to the conversation without getting up. The mechanism beneath the cushions is zinc-plated, e-coated steel, a two-stage rust-resistant treatment made for outdoor use.

How much space does one recliner need?

Each chair is 43.3" tall and 27.5" to 32" wide depending on the collection: Huntington and Keywest are about 27.5", Newport 30.7" and Malibu II 32.2". Upright, they sit roughly 30" deep. The footrest takes that to about 54–56", and fully reclined they reach about 64.5–67", so plan on 5½ feet or a little more front to back if you want to stretch out. Can I leave it outside all year?

It is built for it: rust-proof aluminum frames (with handwoven all-weather wicker on the wicker collections), UV-stable materials and a rust-resistant mechanism. Each recliner also has its own patent-pending cover built in, so for everyday rain and sun you simply deploy it in seconds (clearance items may differ, so check the product page). If heavy rain or severe weather is coming, bring the cushions indoors, and store them somewhere dry over winter to extend their life. Care is light: rinse wicker with water, skip pressure washers, and wipe aluminum clean.

Wicker or aluminum: which collection suits my home?

Match the frame to your home. For modern architecture or a poolside setting, choose aluminum: Huntington is refined and neutral, and Shoreline has a warm wood-look finish with a coastal-modern feel. For traditional or layered outdoor rooms, choose wicker: Keywest is light and relaxed, Newport is a versatile medium brown, and Malibu II is bold and substantial. Several collections also come in Sunbrella® fabric, which resists fading, UV damage, mildew and stains better than standard outdoor fabric, a good upgrade where the sun is strong.

Should I buy one recliner, a pair, or a set?

One recliner suits a reading corner or a spot by the pool. A pair gives two people a matching place to sit, and pairs are listed together on the page.
